Es wird dargelegt, inwiefern beide Konzeptionen kritisch auf Kants Vernunftkritik bezogen sind und in welchen Hinsichten sich ihre Theorien der Wissensentwicklung annähern. Inhaltlich werden Schnittstellen zwischen der phänomenologischen und der archäologischen Darstellung der Wissenskonstellation um 1800 herausgestellt.
Im Resultat entsteht ein differenziertes Bild beider Denker im Rahmen einer historisch-systematischen Wissensforschung.
